  1. 2/4 and 4/8 are equal cause if you cut 4 in hafe it is 2 and if you cut 8 in hafe it is 4 so it will be 2/4 and 2/4 so it will be even.

  2. I'm going to talk about the 4 slide.

    2/4 = 4/8
two fourths and four eighths are equivlent, because they are both 1/2 . :).

    also. ::
    the 5'th slide:

    2/4 < 4/2
4/2 is larger because its an improper fraction and you have to draw 2 sets of rectangles because your need 4 coloured in, and theirs only 2 for each box.

  3. Slide 2
    5/8 Is Bigger Than 1/2
Because 4 Is Half Of 8
So 4/8 Would Be Equal To 1/2
So Since The 5 Is The Numerator
    And 8 Is The Denominator
5 Is Bigger Than A Half.
Therefore 5/8 Is Larger Than 1/2

  4. Im going to talk about slides 2 and 4 .

    Slide 2:
    1/2 < 5/8
5/8 is bigger, because 1/2 is just a half of the shape and then I noticed 5/8 is more than one half. So that makes it easier than drawing a picture.

    Slide 4:
    2/4 = 4/8
My awnser was 2/4 and 4/8 are both equal because they are both a half of a whole.

  5. Slide 2.....

5/8 is bigger than 1/2 because half of 8 is 4....
4/8 is just another way of saying 1/2. If the numerator is 5 and the denominator is 8, 5 is larger than a 1/2 and closer to 8. That is why 5/8 is bigger than 1/2.

  6. Which is larger 2/4 or 4/8

They are both equivalent to 1/2. SO they r both the same amount. If you drew a picture and cut one into 8 and the other into 4 and colured in 2 and4 it would equal half for both of them.

  7. I chose slide four.

    Slide four is 2/4 4/8
They are both the same because.
They are both the same because they are equivelent to 1/2.

  8. the 1st slide was very easy to understand (3/8 and 7/8) because the denominators are the same and you just got to compare the numerators, also the picture was easy to understand!

  9. Slide 1 -

    3/8 vs. 7/8
Since they both have the same denominators you only compare the numerators! You do that because 8 is how many equal pieces a whole is cut into, so in this case, 8 pieces for each. The numerator tells you how many pieces you get. So since 7 is bigger than 3, 7/8 is bigger.

    Slide 5 -

    2/4 vs. 4/2

4/2 is bigger. It is bigger because
2/4 is HALF of a whole. 4/2 is 4 Halves which is equal to TWO wholes. Thats why 4/2 is bigger.

  10. Nice I can make another book! Wooo
    7/8 > 5/6

7/8 is larger because since they're both difference of one, the higher you go the bigger the decimal number gets.
    For example

    1/2= 0.5
    2/3= 0.67
    3/4= 0.75
    4/5= 0.80

See when you get higher the decimal increases. Now let's see what it looks like when you keep going.

    5/6= 0.83(3 repeating)
    6/7= 0.85714(repeating)
    7/8= 0.875

    7/8= 0.875 > 5/6= 0.83(3 repeating)
See what I mean the higher you go when you have a difference of 1 the closer you get to 1 or whatever the whole is.

    4/2 > 2/4

4/2 is bigger than 2/4 because 2/4 is only half of the whole while 4/2 is already over the whole.
You can also prove it if you divide the numerator by the denominator.

    2/4=0.5
    4/2=2.00

See that that shows that 4/2 is two whole pieces while 2/4 is only half of a piece. Therefore
    4/2= 2.00 > 2/4= 0.5

I was going to make a book on all of them but Harbeck said to only do 1 or 2 of them.

Anyways thats my book for the day.
    Peace Out!

  11. I chose slide 4

    Slide four is 2/4 4/8
they are both in common because if you both simplify it they equal 1/2

or if you times 2 2/4 it equals 4/8's too.

    2/4= 0.5
    4/8=0.5
if you divide the numerator and denominator they both equal 0.5 =O

  12. 2/4
    4/8
are the same because if u divide 4 by 2 u get 2(50% of 4) and divide 8 by 2 you get 4(50% of 8) and 2 is the numerator of 2/4 and 4 is the numerator of 4/8 so they are both halves!

  13. Slide 3 . . . Listen up people

4/5 is larger because the numerators are the same we just need to compare the denominators, and in a case like this, the smaller the denominator, the better because that means theres more per piece out of the whole. Since 4/7 has a large number for its denominator, the pieces are smaller. Soooo 4/7 has 4 smaller pieces and 4/5 has 4 larger pieces. There for 4/5 is larger than 4/7.

    Now for Slide 4. . .
2/4 and 4/8 are even because they are both equal to a half. Also you can see that they are equals because if you simplified them you would get the same answer. Like 4/8 Divided by 2 would be 2/4.
divide it by two again it would be 1/2. And you can multiply them to get back to the origonal fraction so theres no differance.
    Aight later!

  14. 2/4 and 4/8 are equivalent because they're both a half and also if you multiply 2/4 to 2 you get 4/8.
