I say that 7/12 would be bigger because if you would find half of 12 would be 6 so HALF would be 6/12 so 6/12 = 1/2 but since its 7/12 theres 1/12 left over. Thats why 7/12 is bigger.

well i chooooose slide 7 i think 7/8 and 9/10 Well, I say 9/10 is larger becuase it has a smaller amount left over. Like, both numbers a 1 piece away from becoming whole, but since the denominator on 9/10 is larger, it makes the pieces smaller. So thats why i think 9/10 is larger!

There are 2 ways why 1/2 is bigger than 2/5. The simplest way is that half of 5 is 2.5 and half of 2 is 1. but for 2/5 the numerator is 2, not 2.5 so it isn't at the half but below it making 1/2 bigger.
The second way you can calculate which one of the fractions are bigger is if you multiplied them to a common multiple, like 10. So for 1/2 you would go : 1 x 5 = 5 --------------- 2 x 5 = 10 *Note* What multiplication u do to da numerator or denominator, u do to the opposite one. In this case for the denominator, so you do the same multiplication to the numerator.
For the second fraction, 2/5, you must multiply by 2 to get to 10 - like so : 2 x 2 = 4 ----------------- 5 x 2 = 10
The rule is if the denominator is the same, you compare the numerators, and vice versa. 5/10 (1/2) and 4/10 (2/5)
2 easy ways to compare numbers less than 10 is 1. to go back to kindergarten and 2. To subtract the 2 numbers and if the difference is a positive number (higher than 0) then it is larger. If it is lower, then the opposite number is larger :P. 5 - 4 = 1 -------------------- 10 10 10

You can also tell it's bigger because when you have an improper fraction it is more likely to be bigger than a proper fraction.
Another way you can find out chich ones bigger is by dividing the numerator by the denominator. 5 divided by 6= 0.83(3 repeating) 6 divided by 5= 1.2
See what I mean when you have an inproper fraction it will be over 1.
