I divided 60 by 2 because 2 is the denominator of the fraction and 60 is the number of mins in a clock. It equals 30 so it is 30 mins. Then I divided 60 by 6 and it equals 10, so it is 10 mins. Then I added both of them together and got 40 mins. So 1/2 + 1/6 = 40 mins.


For the second one, I did the same thing. 60 divided by 4 = 15 mins. Then the next one is 60 divided by 12 = 5 mins. So I then added both of them together and got 20 mins. So 1/4 + 7/12 = 20 mins.

So that means that 1/2 + 1/6 or 30 + 10 = 40mins is bigger.

Well, what me and jonah did was divide 60 by the denominator's so for the water station i divided 10 by 60 & got 6 so the 6 means that if you count the kilometers or boxes 6 times and you made it to the finish line, you counted the boxes or kilometers by 6, 10 times, To make it to the finish line.

The same thing goes for the rest of the stations.

Like the food wagon, I divided 60 by 4 and got 15. So that means when you count the boxes all the way to the finish line by 4, you would be counting by 4 15 times.

8. What are 2 different ways to find a quarter and 3/4 of a number. Use one of the following 16, 22, or 110.

What i did to get 3/4 of a number is by cutting 16 in half and got an 8 or I did the karate chops. Then I cut 8 in half and got a 4. Adding both numbers, the 4 & 8, and got 12. So 12 is 3/4 of 16.

9) Write a fraction question and answer it. It has to be a question like one you have had on a test. You may answer it in pictorial or word form.

The question that i did was 4/5 + 2/5 or 9/12 + 5/6 (which is larger?)

For 4/5 i divided the denominator and got 12. So 12 is only 1/5. Since I need 4/5, I added until I got 12 4's and got 48. So 4/5 is 48 mins on a clock. Since the second fraction has the same denominator and the numerator 2, that means that I need to add 12 2 times. So the answer is 24. So 2/5 is 24 mins. I added both of them and got 72 mins.

When i did 9/12, the denominator is 12. And there is 12 numbers on a clock. So all i needed to know is what is 9 on a clock. The answer is 45. So 9/12 is 45 mins. Then i did 5/6. Since 5/6 has the denominator 6, i just needed to add a zero at the end. The denominator 6 is the same as 60 mins on a clock except without the zero. With the zero it looks like 50/60. So it is 50 mins. Then i added both 45 + 50 and got 95 mins. So 9/12 + 5/6 is bigger.
